民间收藏的一对明代成化年制的瓷杯上,出现有南瓜釉彩花纹,经仪器鉴定是1466年,即成化二年制造。这为加文·孟席斯关于郑和船队发现美洲的理论提供了又一强有力的证据支持。

English Abstract:
A pair of porcelain cups made during the reign of Cheng Hua Emperor in the Ming Dynasty in the folk collection have pumpkin glaze patterns on them, which were identified by the instrument as being made in 1466, that is, in the Second year of Cheng Hua. This provides another strong evidence support for Gavin Menzies’ theory that Zheng He’s fleet discovered America.

A Historic Breakthrough Beneath the Sea

In the Madura Strait, Indonesia, a landmark discovery has captivated the archaeological world. Homo erectus fossil fragments and the remains of 36 animal species were unearthed beneath the seabed – evidence that early humans thrived on now-submerged plains 140,000 years ago.
This work proves there is still much we don’t know about our past, and it’s thanks to our community that such research continues.

Gavin Menzies: August 14th 1937- April 12th, 2020

We are very sorry to write to tell you that dear Gavin passed away peacefully on Easter Day. We are heartbroken that Gavin is no longer with us; he will be hugely missed by his family, friends and an always-growing army of fans of his books and research. He led a truly colourful, adventurous and exciting life, and it is one that we should all aspire to.

You could not have met a gentler, kinder man, and I feel so honoured to have worked with him through the highs and lows of the last 18 years, after he first hired me as a translator.

For the last 5 years or so, Gavin and the team had been working diligently on growing The 1421 Foundation – a non-profit organisation set up to create a legacy for Gavin’s great work, galvanising support from academics and researchers from all corners of the Earth, with a view to re-writing the history of global exploration whilst inspiring future generations. Gavin was delighted on the Foundation’s good progress and I look forward to continuing to build on the solid base of his pioneering work.

There will be a Memorial Service to celebrate Gavin’s life when the Corona virus lockdown is over. We will keep you posted. In the meantime I do hope that you are all keeping safe wherever you are in the world.

Our warmest wishes,
Ian and The Menzies Family
